Do you sell darts, dartboards and or darting equipment?
We currently sell Flights, Stems, Points and second-hand Dartboards. Soon we hope to also stock New Dartboards, Merchandise and a small variety of dart sets.
Do you have a drinks bar or liquor license so I can buy drinks?
We do have a liquor license. So we sell alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks. (Remember becoming a social member will grant you member prices)
Do you sell meals or food?
We have a class 4 food license which allows us to sell BBQ sausages only which are limited to club events.
We do sell a small variety of Chips, Nuts and Chocolates.
Cost of casual play?
If you join a league most leagues have a nightly fee. Fees are very cheap, ranging from $5-10 per night. Occasionally there are social nights that are free or gold coin donation.
I’m wanting to bring my child/teenager down to try darts out together. What are the rules about juniors? Is the club suitable for Juniors?
Children/teenagers aged under 18 need to have a parent/guardian present with them as we are a licensed venue.
Juniors are encouraged to give darts a try! All members have to abide by the club’s code of conduct. So, the clubroom should be a safe place for all dart players.
Currently we don’t have a minimum age. It is just a requirement that a player must be able to retrieve their own darts from the board without assistance (unless medically required).
How do I join?
There are a couple ways you can join. Speaking to a committee member or getting in contact with a contest director would be your first step.
How long do dart league seasons usually go for?
I travel a lot and may no be able to commit to may weeks.
Monday Night League can vary based of entries. Occasional teams will play each other twice or even three times per season. Which can see one season range from 20-30 weeks. Seasons also continue to run all year long. (excluding 3-4 weeks that we close for Christmas)
Tuesday Night Premiere League usually runs for 12 weeks. There are normally two seasons per year. Approximately March through till July and August through till November.
If you cannot commit to one of these leagues. You can start off by putting your name down to be a fill in on a Monday night. The contest director is often looking for a fill in’s. This could be a good way to start to get to know other members and develop your skills.
I don’t know how to count. I am not very good at maths. Do I have to chalk/score games?
Counting and maths is something that will come with time and practice. Our members will help you along the way. You will be required to chalk/score. We now use electronic scoring for most of our leagues so many members have found scoring less daunting. It would be a good idea for you to learn the scoring areas on the dartboard. Click onto our ‘New to Darts’ page to learn a bit more about scoring and chalking etiquette.
What is DartConnect? How can I download it?
DartConnect is an app/website that allows players to electronically score their dart games. It can be saved onto your device as a link. There is a cost involved to access all the features. Currently it is approximately 24 USD per year.
There are MANY features. You can score games, track statistics, compare games, play darts against a computer or play darts online against other players. You can even start up your own league or follow leagues from all around the world.
Our club now uses DartConnect. We have noticed our players excitement at seeing their results/stats instantly.
Who knows what more features DartConnect will offer in the further.
How can I follow MSDA Leagues?
Google ‘DartConnect TV’
Press the button ‘Leagues & Clubs’
Filter the region to ‘Oceania’ Then search the letter ‘M’.
You should be able to find two ‘Maroondah Social Darts Association’ listed. Tuesday Night League will be the one that has ‘Premiere League’ at the end.
